I have been selling on eBay for over three years and now have a good presence there with over 2500+ feedbacks.
I have created a ecommerce site www seedspot dot co dot uk to pick up some of my 30% repeat sales this way rather than through eBay. (Less fees) Costs are usually about 10-20% of sale price, but time is required to pack seeds etc.
My sales on eBay have grown each year figures below are March to Sept 7 months a yr that I sell. (Figures taken direct from sales reports plus)
sales 2007 £1800 (17.1% fees) approx 60% profit (£1100)
sales 2008 £3800 (15.8% fees) approx 60% profit (£2400)
anticipated sales 2009 approx £6k.
costs of ebay fees(%) are above with paypal fees covered in the postal charges I set, so are slightly better than cost neutral.
I plan to double stock again this year and this would lead to even greater sales. I have stock retailing well over £2k, as well as good will etc.
What is the likely value of this business as I have plans to expand my other areas of my vending business (also looking at motorhome hire and also hot tub hire) and do not have time to develop this part time business to give it the push it needs with the new eBay shop formats
This is not a get rich scheme but a genuine business for someone to expand and develop. All figures can be proven.
