Hi all,
I’m new to this message board. I hope you will suggest me a right direction. Actually I have small budget and want to build a home-based service business at my own place but I am confused, what type of business I should start. Could you people suggest me for any business that could I do well and get more profits? Your suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks!

I know I should click away :)

But I find it really hard to.

I know you mean well, Elaine, but if you have to speak in these terms to someone... what is the hope?

Isn't the truth (which should be said) that you are pushing water uphill and all that stuff? I'm sure the OP is a very nice person, but is niceness the test?

It's like me posting on a politics board and asking people to suggest a political career I might be interested in. I mean, either you are, or you aren't.

Can anyone suggest a painkiller I can try?

Since you're new to the forums, welcome! I hope you hang around and become part of the community.

Despite Ling's objections, I would reiterate Elaine's point. What are you good at? What do you enjoy? What would excite you each day? If this turns into something for the longer term, it's much more fun doing something you enjoy.

And what are your circumstances? Why do you want to work from home? Have you worked from home before? What skills do you have and what contacts can you leverage?

Yes, you need to be sure there's a need before going too far down any particular path, that you know your target market and how to reach it, that you can actually make money, and so on. But before doing any of that, give us a little more insight into your situation.

One minute railing against Obama and the whole American tax system, the next helping a newbie begin a business from 10,000 miles away.

You are so versatile and kind :)

Apologies for not being kind, but I think if you (OP) take a balanced view of all opinions, you will have more chance to succeed.

Well, thank you. Like Elaine (who means well), I'm pleased to get my little pat on the head.

It's not about being kind. My father spent his entire life doing a job that he hated. I'm sure the OP would want to consider many factors in making a decision, not just profit. So why not encourage them to think about things they like doing? Working a job you love can be invigorating.

I'm with Ling.

Read the post again. Someone will come along later with a post with a remarkable new business opportunity, from home. They will put in a link to their site. Chances are it will be the same person as the OP.

It was a very silly question to ask. You should be thinking why have they asked it. They have asked it probably because they have a cracking answer to the question, one that benefits them.

This is very common amongst business message boards. A few of you are slow at picking it up.

No it wasn't. How do you know the OP isn't a single mum with young children who's come to a business forum to ask for ideas about how to work from home?

Not slow, just willing to give newbies the benefit of the doubt instead of always assuming the worst.

    Hopeless.

We can help with questions like 'what's a good accounts package?' and 'how do I become a ltd company?' and 'where can I get a telephone number from?' - but pretending we can give useful advice about 'what should I do with my life' is a bit of a stretch.

Give us something to work on.........

I once tried to get thim included in a article the Guardian was doing on Home Working but they're not the sharpest knives in the drawer.

I know because they have posted the exact same message here:

    http://community.openforum.com/thread.jspa?threadID=570000211

They state they are in the cleaning business, asking for help. On another post they ask this (see bottom):

    http://community.openforum.com/thread.jspa?threadID=570000213&#msg570000487

And the first reply is from a new user with a link to a cleaning business ebook for sale for $39.

    I could be wrong.

    WOOOWWOWWWWWWWWWWWW

Why has this posy got so many replies???

It is obviously SPAM!!! there are a number of messages on here in the same vein! Most recently (I think) the Paralegal one!

Ok, I admit I'm not too sure what the spammer has to gain from these posts BUT it is 100% spam!

Like Matt - I haven't got a clue what spammers get out of these sort of posts. Nevertheless I offer 3 suggestions.

    (1) Buy a book on how to get rich quick - cost $99 . Not sure of how much in yen.

    (2) I hear bottling pigeon milk and snake oil is big business. Ideal if you want to work from home and have big loft.

    (3) Start importing bloody great big handbags from China and advertise them as the biggest in the world. Your sell quite a few in this forum.

By the way. What is all this 'Trader' lark Ling which lists the menber as a VA and then goes to LingCars. Spam or creative marketing. I wonder. Rob

Hi I'm not sure that we can tell you what you should be doing, but like others have suggested, it really helps to be doing something that you:

    a) Enjoy

    and

    b) Know about

When you have decided, why not take a look at our office furniture site at www.pdqfurniture.co.uk and check out the help and advice section, which has a guide to working from home. You will also need some good quality office furniture, that you will also find here.

    Good luck.

My little link in my signature can become a business. It's totally free to join and start. Basically the idea is that by joining ei42 (for free) you can access just about any reatailer you can think of on the internet for your internet shopping.

Ebay, Amazon, Itunes, Next, Boots, Woolworths, M&S, Screwfix,bodyshop.....infact Just about ANY retailer you can think of has signed up to be a part of this, far too many to list.

When ever you buy through a retailer who is signed up through ei42, you will get cash back credited to you ei42 account. When it gets to £20.00 you get a cheque sent out (or can get paid through paypal)

However this is the good bit. when you introduce people they become linked to you. As a reward from the reatailers and ei42 whenever someone you have introduced buys something, you also get a small amount of cash back.

I thought this was some sort of a scam, but when you realise just about ANY retailer you could think of has signed up with this, it made me change my mind. Even buying tracks from Itunes, using this you can get cash back. I mean ITUNES....if they are doing this i think it speaks volumes.

The only way you can join is by been introduced through someone else..thats what my link will do. If you've never heard about ei42...you will hear about it again...trust me.

Because if you refer enough people, from all the little bits of money, you can end up with a substantial monthly income.

I think im quite near the person who started the whole thing off, although i dont know him. But to put into context. I was introduced by a very good friend. Her dad joined about 4-5 months ago (ei42 has only been going since feb) he has introduced about 25 people directly himself. They have gone to tell other people about it. He now has over 3000 people that he is making small amount of cashback whenever they buy anything.

Currently hes's getting a cheque for just over £300 a month, just for telling people about this....

The introductions only go as far as 7 levels, so the person at the top isnt any better off, unless he has introduced more people directly himself.

After you get your head around it...then it becomes apparent how big this is going to be...

Also...this isnt pyramid..this totally legal. Pyramid you would have to buy to get in, and sell to others. This is completly free. You can buy exactly what you would do anyway off the internet, for eg from ebay. But if you did it through ei42...the differnence is you would get cash back.

I know ive gone on a bit...if no one wants to join and get free money when they buy the same things from the same retailers that they were going buy from anyway..thats fine.

However i am interested in what other peoples opinions on this are. What do people think about it?
