Amazon Pro-Merchant Account

Hi there,

Does anyone here have an Amazon Pro-Merchant account? Allowing you to list new pages on Amazon.

I have some products which I'd like to list on Amazon however want to test the market before signing up to an account.

If anyone has a Pro-Merchant account and would be interested in listing a few products in exchange for some of the profit please let me know.

Thanks,

AC

This could be a good opportunity for someone with an account as I have a product I would like to test on Amazon too. The product is set-up with its own barcode but I would not want to pay the fees just to test it.
Will search around to check if anyone is already offering to use their account to sell other people's products and post again if I find anything

I hadn't thought of that but there's a business idea in itself there - setting up a Pro account on Amazon for a particular category of products and offering to list products for people and take a profit share!

I have an active pro-account - PM me with more info.

I can also supply barcodes, if required!

BTW, it's only £25 a month, if you wanted to take a punt!

It should show up for various search terms if I have set it up right.
The bath toys were items I sold end of last year, the customer went by the picture instead of the description and believed they were getting a set of toys, I did offer a refund for the item to be returned but they decided to decline that offer and leave the feedback instead.

Amazon approached me to set up such an account, but wanted 30% comission. I don't make 30% profit on many items, so I declined. This probably explains why I can usually find the same item cheaper on individual websites rather than sites like Amazon (excluding the things Amazon sell themselves like books, DVDs). Is there a cheaper way of getting your products listed on Amazon?

Just opened up an account here, what's everyone's opinion of it?

I intend using it just for used books, of which we've literally hundreds - almost thousands - as eBay doesn't seem the best marketplace to shift them. My view was the majority of the info - e.g. ISBN, etc - is already in place on Amazon and it's more targeted for book buyers. I took a punt on the increased monthly cost to set against time uploaded & lower commision, rates etc.

We shall see.

Been using amazon pro account for like a month or so...

So far just 2 sales generated, will wait another 5 months than will decide to quit or not... As soon as it pays for its cost, will keep it...

but not looking to achieve the ebay results for a much longer time...

2 sales generated - are you a specialist supplier ?
I stopped my pro-merchant account over a year ago cos sales had dropped off. A couple of years earlier, it had been a good market place but as sellers increased (due to it being a good market - especially for books) the prices were driven down and down until it was not worth the monthly pro-merchant fee

What I'd really like to know is in what order they list products on Amazon. I'm considering setting up a Pro-Merchant account and selling some iPhone skins on there but there's quite that already come up when typing it into the search. It's obvious to distinguish the page with your 'company' name and then the product but how do your get it to come up at the top when putting it into a an amazon search?

Be the cheapest. That's how you get to the top of marketplace.

I find Amazon buyers are not always looking for the cheapest, a better listing, super fast delivery, quality packaging and very good communications are much more important to them on the whole, Amazon in not Ebay thankfully.

As regards the account, just started a month ago myself so very early days, but from colleagues who also sell on there it seems to take a few months to kick in but well worth it once it does.

I've had three sales in the last week from just two items, been unable to list due to personal circumstances.

By the end of this month I will have over 500 listings on Amazon, so will let you know more in a few months time.

I think on amazon ratings are another important point to generate sales...

Also helps your products to be listed in other websites such as twenga etc. which increases traffic.

Will concentrate on that after my 15 days of holiday!

Hi all, Does anyone here have an Amazon Pro-Merchant account? Allowing you to list new pages on Amazon.

I have some products which I'd like to list on Amazon however want to test the market before signing up to an account.

My name is Peter and I am a new seller and want to sell a didgeridoo interactive tutorial dvd and 5 cd beginner to pro tutorial pack on amazon uk, but its not on their catalogue and I dont sell enough to join the expensive pro program.
I have been selling the items via ebay and my website etc and now I want them listed on amazon uk, I have a fully registered seller account for amazon uk
I spoke to the people at amazon uk today and they said I need a pro seller account or a friendly pro seller to set up the sales page with each item so that I can offer to sell similar etc.
The 2 items I offer come from australia and are genuine items and NOT copies, pirates, dupes etc
The dvd has a 13 digit number and the 5cd pack has isbn number and 13 digit number and is multi-regional
I will offer a small payment if its needed for your time and help thats offered as its an easier option.
Let me know if you can help and I can point you to the website where the items are being sold so you can simply copy and paste most of the add?
Any questions, please ask?

Can I suggest that you create your own account and sell your own stuff. Why should anyone put at risk their amazon status when you cannot be bothered to create a £25 a month account.

Very Aggressive and i don't know about "can't be bothered" but its a good point;

Its a start-up company (low budget) that aims to help fair trade, organic and eco-friendly products from South America to market.. Were based out of Bolivia and currently 1 of the 25 pounds you mention's buys 11 Bolivian's and dinner in a restaurant.

I have no reason to believe anyone's Amazon 'status' would be threatened. Delivery and shipping is through a reputable fulfillment company. Are there any other reasons why a 'status' be threatened?

    1. The toy and game category on Amazon is restricted in November to January. So if you have a couple of hiccups in the 90 days before November you could find yourself being banned from Amazon for that christmas period. This could close many companies down.

    2. It only costs £25 to try for a month so if you cannot afford £25 how could you afford to supply orders at any rate.

    3. It only takes a few customers to complain of late delivery or shoddy products and you get a few negatives or a few A-Z claims and thats it, no more sales on Amazon. If you get more than 1% of poor orders then it is game over.

Now who in their right mind would risk their whole business to someone who will not even risk £25.

Please not I am not saying your products are shoddy. BUT it only takes a couple of customers to say that and then it can snowball.

I can see would be easy to justify 25 a month with an established and successful business.

And you have to start somewhere i guess, but with 16 product lines (although niche and unique) all feedback seems to point towards the Amazon marketplace not being beneficial to a business of this size. I could be wrong and often am!

The hope is our products would compensate someone else's existing range. We will see... Thanks
