Is this Ecommerce Shopping Cart bit of kit any good?

    Just wondered if anybody here has ever used this bit of kit
    (http) www xlecom com the demo seems to work really well, easy management of a online shop and pretty much does all the work for you. The only problem is I can’t workout how to change the look of the end website to my own design and style. The other problem is the demo changes the prices after publishing I guess to make sure you don’t try and use it without paying for it, just wondered if it works OK after registering.

    It seems to work very well but just wondered what you think.

    TigerRag, why bother with something so obscure when there are terrific applications you can use, alter and update to your heart's content?

    Take a look at Zen Cart for instance. We host it. But we are only one host of many for it. It is Open Source. It has a democratic development team, to which we subscribe. There is no one company to go broke or to go for broke by increasing charges. Its longer term security and continuity is assured. We support the software in an engineering sense. So do many, many others. So if you ever decide we are not right for you, it is easy to find another team to support you.

    There are many, many designs to choose from or you can design your own or have one commissioned. There are many many options and functionalities to choose from, and you have access to the source code should you ever need to build in something you had not planned for and which does not already exist.

    I will have a looked at Zen Cart and see how it works. Is it easy to use and keep updated as I don’t have the money to pay someone to set it up for me at the moment. I’m not an IT dummy but never tried anything like this before
