First Found?

Hi
Has anyone had any dealings with this SEO company. Basically I pay them an upfront £300 and then £50 a month and they say that they will get my site on the first page if not near the top of Google and the rest. I would really like that of course, I would like to hear from anyone who has experience in this or advise. Many thanks
Rob

I'd say that many of the members here could get you on the front page of Google, indeed probably the number one slot for a lot less than that.. of course what really matters are the search terms that put you there.

You need to be asking them more questions, find out exactly what they will be getting you listed for.

yes, a client of mine was contacted by a firstfound telemarketer and i then had a chat with a guy from firstfound. they told me their methods and i say they're basic methods and will produce basic results. i am not ghastily unimpressed but i could produce better results than them for 10% of what they charge. but that's not to say that the average seo company is any better.

clue yourself up on seo here:
...and don't forget to ask how much they will charge you on condition that you don't have to link to them from your site (which is actually using your popularity to boost theirs!)

So you would do SEO for £30 down payment and £5 a month, cool.

Maybe people could learn to do it themselves but they dont have the time or to some its just too complicated and they just cant get into it.

It always makes me laugh when someone on here asks have you heard about so and so as most people are always quick to put them down or belittle the company in question and "always" claim to be able to do it for cheaper no matter how much the initial quote was for. I bet if I asked about a company that quoted me £5 a year for SEO for "insurance" somebody would claim to be able to do it for less.

People always claim to be able to do it cheaper, fact is you get to a certain price where you get what you pay for.

Your reply is too generic, what determines an average SEO company, the fee, the client base, the down payment, who do you doubt the average SEO company is much better then?

"average" meaning half way down a list ranked in order of value for money of seo service

i'm saying the average seo company is probably not much better than firstfound (the object of the thread)

I will guarantee number 1 placing on G, BUT it must be for a longtail phrase of my choosing that has low competition, low search volumes and low conversions.

That is how a lot of the "guarantee" companies work. These guys may be different, but just remember my sentence above.

Thanks for your replies, the one thing the sales man did say which was encouraging was that they are top ranking in their search, ie if you type search engine consultant into google they are there at the top. I will also look at their contract details as if they do not deliver I dont want to have to keep paying.

But, I have just found that if you search SEO they are no where to be found. Is that the most popular search phrase?
