The Growing Your Own Business Showcase & Conference, taking place on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 June 2008 at the SECC, Glasgow, will provide the perfect opportunity for small business owners to find out all they need to know to develop and grow their company.
This event, which is sponsored by Business Gateway, will feature leading established companies and experts who will offer invaluable advice and services to enable businesses to expand much faster, increase their efficiency, and most importantly, improve their profitability.
The showcase will be supported by networking sessions run by The Small Business Club where entrepreneurs can make contacts and gain advice from many experienced business people.
A free conference with seminars will provide practical advice and information on all aspects of growing a business.
Highlights include a keynote address from Amanda Jones and James Brown, founding directors of Red Button Design, an award winning design company, entitled 'Small business growth strategies: goals for successful CEOs.
Amanda, James and Nicky Pang gained national renown by inventing a way to provide clean water to more than one billion people in developing countries. This created an unprecedented positive response on the BBC Dragons' Den - all five dragons invested in the business equally.
Red Button Design has received a string of awards from organisations such as The Wall Street Journal, Scottish Enterprise and The Oxford Said Business School.
Other speakers include Alisdair Northrop, Editor of Scottish Business Insider, the leading Scottish business magazine, who will be speaking on how to build a buzz through PR for your business.
The conference will culminate on day one with a presentation from Fraser Hay, founder of the Results Academy, a business support network created for entrepreneurs by entrepreneurs. Fraser will be providing tips on how to get the best results from your marketing initiatives.
Fraser Hay is one of the UK's leading business development experts and helps small business owners identify, pursue & achieve their objectives.
Fraser has created a Home Study Marketing Course and written a book "How to make money on Ecademy" (available through Amazon) which has been downloaded in 22 countries. He is a former winner of Shell Livewire Scottish and UK Businessman of the Year, Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust Businessman of the Year, and the Royal Bank of Scotland Businessman of the Year awards.
On Saturday 14 June, James Howell, Managing Director of E2 Marketing, a leading marketing services company, will be providing advice on how to build a successful search marketing campaign. James has many years of experience with companies such as Canon, Texaco, British Gas and Powergen.
Concluding the seminar programme will be William Buist, Managing Director of Abelard Management Services, which specialises in building trust in teams and communities within its corporate and SME client base. William will be offering his ideas and thoughts on networking and how to connect your business with the right people.
William has had a 22 year career in Insurance, including serving as Head of Business Risk Management and Chief Underwriter for Lloyds TSB Insurance.
The Growing Your Own Business Showcase & Conference and The Business Franchise Exhibition are open from 10am each day, closing at 5pm on Friday 13 June and 4pm on Saturday 14 June.
