Link building Site?

    Hi, was hoping someone could help me, i came across a great link building directory the other day that had a load of quality links to SEO friendly directories, i was half way through the list and i suffered hard drive problems and haven't been able to find what the site was since.

    It definately wasn't vilesilencer

    Anybody that has used these types of places could you give links and then maybe i will find the one i was using again.

    Be carful basing your entire linkbuilding strategy around directories, free or paid. Google have devalused a lot of these links a few months ago - a lot of the bigger names in the directory world got their PR hit badly and would make sense to use a bit of caution in future.

    Thanks for the advice, been spending a lot of time recently on building links in this way, maybe i should stop.

    If these types of directories have been devalued what's now the best way for getting quality inbound links? as i take it that Google still values inbound links?

    Yes, Google love inbound links, but they're also well aware that some methods of getting inbound links are far easier than others. It makes sense (and has been confirmed) that Google 'weight' differnet types of links differently, plancing empasis on the ease that a link can be aquirred and also it's relevance to the target site.

    The best advice that I can give when linkbuilding is to diversify as much as possible, don't focus on one 'type' of site, vary everything. This will help you link profile to look more 'natural'.

    agree with mattsaw. Different types of links tend to look more natural than an 800 dir submission campaign. Even a blend of follow and nofollow could be cool. So, forum sigs, blog comments, some dir links, some SMO links, a few articles should make a decent enough spread.

    Buy a copy of submiteaze and do the directory submissions. We've promoted a ton of sites to top 10, top 5, etc, primarily through directory submits. Vary your inbound link anchors and descriptions, scattering around 5-10 different keyword/phrases, and you'll do fine.

    Just because Google slapped the PR down on some paid dir's does NOT mean that their IBL value doesn't exist. It just means your PR won't get a big boost, and PR has nothing to do with SERPS.
