Use of Customer Testimonials on Website

    Hi,

    I am considering putting some testimonials from customers on our wesbite to inspire some extra confidence. I am always wary of testimonials on sites myself but then I am probably a bit cynical and jaded.

    I am not sure where to put this info on the site.

    Does anybody has some experience with testimonials on sites, what were the results etc?

    Hi Venka,

    I'm not sure how much of an effect having testimonials on my website has but I do have a page on my site.

    I try as much as I can to send out feedback request letters to all customers but particularly business customers, and ask if I can put their Business Name next to their comments - this adds a bit more 'credibility' than Jane fronn Oxford etc.

    Could you not ask your customers to maybe send in picture of your products in their home along with comments?

    Hi Venka,

    We've been lucky, because we were actually doing what we do now as a hobby before we went full time, we had built up lots of customers over the years, and had got a lot of testimonials and thank you's by email. When we developed our website, we were always going to have testimonials on there, but decided it was best to have them on a testimonial page.

    My thoughts personally, if you have a purchase path on your ecommerce site, testimonials work very well there. This helps inspire that extra bit of confidence at a vital time.
