Mr Site anyone??

i use mr site for my website (www.fernhurstbookkeeping.co.uk), just the basic version. i dont really need the shop version so can't comment ..... easy to use and looks professional, in my opinion, and very cheap as well.
you might be able to do better, but you could do a hell of a lot worse!!

I had a mr site website, but I've not used it for ages and am going to let it expire shortly. I think it's great for hobby businesses and for service businesses that just need to provide their info online, but it's quite limited for ecommerce. I haven't used MrSite Pro, but looking at the extra features I'm still not convinced it's suitable for selling professionally online - that's my opinion though, not based on experience.

As E-commerce you do have a few options to use as payment gateways. Paypal is always on the side of the buyer and are not bothered about the seller, so we are now using 2Checkout which are another payment method you might want to consider.
We have had no problems with them yet.
We are thinking of implementing Avactis on-line solution just woudering how many people would be interested, the price would be about £3-4 per month.

once bitten, twice shy!
You are looking at jumping from one hosted solution to another. Using an indepndant host and loading your own site can be simple and cheaper.
If you are thinking of going that the 'shop in a box' route again, make sure that:
- the site operates in a common platform, one where you can move the data and design easily, if there are issues
- you back up your data and templates daily
- your domain name is registered with a third party.
You are looking at jumping from one hosted solution to another. Using an indepndant host and loading your own site can be simple and cheaper.

With Avactis there is a free version, we will be purchasing it and installing it on our servers.
Users will have full access to all the features and the mySQL PHPAdmin area to backup the Databases. If they are not happy then all they do is download the free version then install it on there new host, customers are not losing anything all they are paying for is the hosting a small fee for the packages we purchase.
