    hello

    i want to be able to accept payments on my website but i dont want the customer to be taken away from my page and want to do it all on there.

    whats the cheapest way to do this?
    do you need a bank merchant account to do all of them - please state if yes or no ? this is my main problem as i wanted to do protx but the bank wanted £250 signup cost.. any ideas.

    any info would be great.

    not sure if paypal required a merchant account with the bank for payments pro

    I thought they did. When I applied for Paypal Web Pro, they opened one with HSBC whom they deal with to process the payments for the Web pro side of the business :| Now I don't think the guy was supposed to tell me, it's because it took so long to set up that I kept querying it and someone mentioned HSBC was involved :|

    I don't use Paypal We pro anymore though.

    They certainly dont require you to have one, though I cannot say if they dont open one on your behalf as I havent read the terms and conditions in a long time.

    I wouldnt be very surprised if they arent doing something similar but be it a full merchant account or some form of bastardisation I dont know.... if it is a merchant account it must be a pain for them with offering the 3 channels plus reoccuring transactions which should technically all have their own IDs
