empty marketing promises - Black Pearl Marketing

Hi all, I just wanted to post an ad to make you aware of a company called Black Pearl Marketing.

The salesmen promised the earth - you expect a small white lie from them but they said they were going to do something then didnt something which formed part of the contract.

They were to put a Plasma screen TV in a shop window 24 hrs a day 7 days a week - in January 2007 - actually installed on a small screen inside the shop in august 2007 where customers cant see it and switched off when closed.

To be linked on their web site - no links as of yet.

To have a quaterly magazine published and delivered to the whole area. since September 06 one magazine has gone out to a hand full of residents and no date for the second issue. Also noone to deliver remaining magazines.

Has anyone else had experiences with them or heard of them.

regards
Adrian

Exactly the same experience. What we were promised and what we got were two very different things.

Presumably

you only paid for what you got, not what you were promised?

More importantly, perhaps, what did they say when you challenged them about it?

on the form the sales man said that we we to get a large plasma screen with flashing (movie type) adverts he said that the unique selling point is that its going in the shop window, displayed 24/7 and this is what i paid for.

Getting through to them is a night mare they have passed the blaim to the estate agents which i have in writing. The estate agents are not bothered about it as there is no financial interest for the estate agents apart from the screen and magazine displays their properties - they do not pay or get paid)

All three of us advertisers are going down to the estate agents next week and demanding for them to get answers as the way i see it we are sponsoring them to advertise their properties. Our aim is to be hard on them so they take notice to get them on our side.

Trading standards are involved and have been informed it would be too costly to take them to court due to the fact we are not the only ones that have tried to get our money back.

Every time i ask for my money back they say they have honoured their contrct - they said the money you pay you get what you are given and have to wait for it....

Every time i ask when the screen was being installed or magazine going out "itrs being published now - 2 weeks time"

Knowledge is power - the more people know about this and other companies the more these companies will become extint!!!

black pearl marketing

This is a snipit from their web site that i have just found boasting about their 42" plasma screens installed from their web site (

"Secondly we are installing 42" Plasma screens into the estate agent offices to promote the estate agents own services, current property listings and 15 second commercials to back up our clients publication advert"

we have a 28" screen with a 9 second advert

I have been told by my step daughter (who is law student), trading standards, and someone on the legal forum becasue they are under investigation, by TS which i do not know the full facts

It could be too costly
They could go out of business (or forced) in which we would be the last in a long line to receive money

We have been told to wait until TS give us the nod. if that makes sence...
