Virtual Tour - Will it be fruitful as a Business Idea?

Hi All,

I'm sure by this time most of the members on the forums know that I'm getting in to a detailed research of setting up a Chennai Business Directory in India. Now I have some business ideas and one such idea is a Virtual Tour - By which I mean if a business is interested to place an advert on my directory they can upload a free 3 to 5 min... video of their business and they can market themselves. This will be useful for international visitors to view a hotel in Chennai (Madras) before they can book or go in for an enquiry while they are making their trip to India. Wondering if this idea is good enough and will it yeild results form both the site viewers point and the business as well.....

I'm looking for advice to refine this idea a bit and also improvise on it....

Many Thanks in Advance......

Cheers

Thanks Malcolm....

I'm just wondering if anyone of you tried searching on any Indian websites in the past and found something like this (a website with virtual aspects of their business) was it useful... Or just imagine will it be useful to you as an individual if you search for something in Chennai and get a small video about it...

I have recently been using the internet to find a hotel for when I take my wife to London in a couple of months and IMO any photos and videos displayed on the websites dont give a true illustration of what you will actually get. In this instance, the hotels are only going to display images of their best rooms and these would have been staged to give the best impression.

Adding virtual tour videos to your site would be a good feature to attract people to your site so long as they are representative of what they are advertising. If a user visits your site and selects a service from your directory based on a good video only to find it totally different when they visit, they are not likely to trust the videos in the furture.
