Uniform Allowance

Did you know your staff are entitled to a uniform allowance as long as they do their own uniform washing and it is a uniform with an embroidered logo.

It is worth about £45 a year and can be backdated.

How does this work, if you don't mind me asking?

I run a computer outlet, and me and my two employees all wear polo shirts and sweaters all embroided.

Does this mean we are missing out on something? I'm a director and draw £445 per month to use my personal allowance, and my two employees both earn between £500 &£1000 per month. Our payroll is done by a bueru can they do initiate this tax saving or does each employee need to individually approach the tax office.
