hi there
there is this really cool website that i came across,i think it is new, i put my ad on there it was quite easy and simple to use, you can put anything on there plus if there is no category for your item you can let them know and they will put it up for you.

hope this helps :)

I've recently been using some of these sites for promoting my site (website-huddle) within the UK. I've found that Gumtree works well. Generally I post the ad and then pay for getting it to the top of the list.

You can post in any area of the country. Just put in nationwide. This is great if you are based outside London but want to access their market. I've tried a few others but without success.

I suspect that for some of the others - like Loot and Craiglist that my type of product (website design) isn't the right place to put the ads. So if you are selling something different don't be put off.

Currently I'm trying Vivastreet but it's too early to say whether this will work out or not.

Incidently I've also tried Google ads. They are great for driving traffic but it's an expensive way to aquire customers so not great unless you have a product with a high profit margin.

There are plenty of them. Every month there are new ones coming out. But the most promising ones are

craigslist.org (mostly us based)
movethat.co.uk (lack of maintenance and server issue)
Bonsoni.com (new but seems quite good)

There are others as well but they look really poorly done.
