The Thames Gateway Business Club, in alliance with the London Business Network, the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) vehicle is currently looking to register businesses on to the electronic buying system (EBS) which goes live on or about the middle of August this year, with buyers due to go live around November. The EBS will allow for Tier 1 contractors to place 25% of all Olympic contracts on to the site. This statutory commitment laid down by the ODA places tremendous pressure upon the major players to recruit 3 & 4 tier suppliers. To qualify for these opportunities you will have to register on the London Business Network site. This will replace the current London 2012 procurement portal.
Together with Local Authorities, NHS, Govt offices and other public sector bodies the EBS will act as a one stop route to engage in public sector tendering of all value contracts. It is also proposed to offer the private sector access to place contracts across the entire spectrum, mobile hairdressers, on-site catering suppliers up to major events organiser's.
MHC Procurement Ltd having been asked to formed the Thames Gateway Business Club will offer businesses first hand information regarding all aspects of the London 2012 games contracts, Thames Gateway projects, Private and public sector activity and opportunities. This will be cover through a number of initiatives and activities across the entire region.
MHC, also planned to linkup the Thames Gateway Business Club with many other associated bodies including the DTI's new export vehicle for the Thames Gateway.
