One of my employees recently took the initative to use a company vehicle without prior authorisation ouch and has had an accident. I have informed the other partys insurance that this vehicle was not insured for the driver concerned and that she had taken it without consent. I have told them to pursue my employee, what are the legal implications for me here? I am very concerned as I have recieved letters from a solicitor and believe the claimant is very keen to sue my company. It has already cost me a pretty penny as I have had to repair the company vehicle out of my own pocket. It was my back up vehicle and I occasionly drove it on my comprehensive insurance. My employee has accepted responsibility for their actions. However I am very concerned. Any advice here would be very welcome.
