Hi,

I'm looking at doing many events / exhibitions over this year which will envolve me going to places like NEC, hotels, etc etc.

I will be setting up a stand - just some free standing banners and a table.

Now i'm unsure how the insurance side of things work.... Would I need public libility insurance? Would I be covered by the venue?

If anyone knows anyone that can advise I would love a quick chat!

Regards,

Sam

I would strongly recommend have some kind of liability insurance, if someone was to trip over and injure themselves on your stand, they could potentially sue you.

If you have an existing business insurance policy, you may be able to extend the cover to include this.

If not, the venue may be able to offer you some form of accident/liability cover.

It is of course very unlikely that there will be an accident and someone will sue you, but you don't want to tempt fate.

the exhibition hall will have PL insurance, which will cover anyone injured as a result of their facilities. You need PL to cover you if anyone injures themselves on your stand. If you are going to have anyone else one your stand with you then you will also need employers liability insurance.

The best bet is to contact the venue for confirmation.

No Win, No Fee claims certainly did change the marketplace, we offer this service, but we ensure our clients recieve 100% of their injury compensation and the other side meet our costs.

If you have an accident and decide you do want to make a claim, shop around for a Solicitor who will not take a chunk of the compensation award.
