hi
we are a charity and no matter how we try we do not seem able to recruit help for general business admin etc. Any suggestions ?

Have you put a request on the volunteering websites??

something like

www.do-it.org.uk/

or there are some more local ones to you. You should also be able to find a centre locally that you can go into to chat about your requirements.
A family member who lives near Stowmarket managed to find some local to him when he was looking to volunteer........

Best regards

JJ

It is hard enough to find people to work when you pay them, I have no idea how you would find someone for zero

You mean to say you have vacancies but no applications ? Where are you as in the UK the unemployment is sky high

You can post you vacancy details at 'Indeed' & 'Linkedin'. Through these two sites you can find out an experienced Business Admin easily as there are many intellectual & experienced people who are in search of such type of jobs.

But they would expect to be paid ;)

I have joined " indeed " and found a number of potential volunteers so will see what interest we get.

We are based in the Fenland of East Anglia so no universities close enough, but it is an area that we had not considered so thank you for new ideas.

As somebody once said anything is possible !!

Looking at it from a different angle have you thought of approaching a leading supermarket and ask them if they would allow you to have a table laid out and a small display about the charity you could also attempt to recruit helpers and staff at this event also.

Failing that, at least you'll of collected a bit for your charity and make your self more known to the local community. You'll get to meet a wide range of people from all walks of life and indeed a few retired folk who may be interested in your admin job.

But unless you get out there and sell yourself no ones ever going to know

Where in Cambridge are you located?
I am looking to gain some experience and a up to date reference and therefore looking for some sort of employment within this role.

Thanks
