I'm wondering whether you are able to say what your business is here and try and get interest from fellow users?

It's not my business but I am an employee of a company that saves SME's thousands of pounds.

Firstly - welcome to this forum, it is truly a great place to learn and give back to people.

Secondly i would recommend that you read the sticky posts at top of all the sub forums that are pretty clear on self promotion and when / where it is fine to promote etc.

By all means head over to Introductions and introduce yourself in mean time :)

Forums, like social media, are not all about self promotion. They're there for debate, discussion and help - a sharing of knowledge so that we can all benefit - through which you build reputation.

Rather than just jump in trying to sell your product, try engaging first. By viewing and participating in posts, adding your help or advice where you think it will benefit, you will start to develop an understanding of how things work; and those around you will start to get an understanding of you.

Do it more and more (even better as a paid member, with links to your site), you'll find some people may even take a look and have an interest in what you're selling without you having to say a word.

Just remember, it's not all self, self, self.

Just remember, it's not all self, self, self.

Well, it is not overtly self, self, self.

Different people have different motivations to participate, driven ultimately by their own personal needs (i.e. self), whether that to be to show off, gain satisfaction from helping people, enjoy arguing or sell things.

It just seems to be better etiquette to pretend your motivation is one of the first three on teh list than to sell things.

That said, there is a section where it is perfectly acceptable to sell things, but that is only open to paying members. Given membership is a notional amount, if what you want to do is sell and can't be bothered to play teh other games, just pay the fee and post on the marketplace.

Thanks,

I will indeed keep an eye out for ways I can help others also. In fairness the reason I came here was to understand peoples perception of what cloud services are and offer the quickly realised I can help people with the service the company I work for offers.

Obviously, it goes without saying, unless you are the owner or authorised to market on behalf of your employers (e.g. the marketing manager), I'd seek permission from your employers before adding any references back to them.

Before you try to get something from the users, the first you should think is what you can give to them, after you contribute enough valuable content, then you will get what you want.

You can start by interacting with other users in this forum. I understand that you may have some level of authority to represent your company, so try not to undermine them :) with weak conversations. Actually, there are a lot of topics here in this forum that you can participate in. You might learn a thing or two yourself.

Cheers!

I agree, I just wanted to check before I recommended where I work to anyone. I'm not trying to generate sales but I do feel that the company I work for can genuinely help SME's.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

I need help. Im new to selling online, well not totally new as I have sold lots of my photographs but most of my sales of my images have been done through PODs, thats print on demand sites. Now im selling a new range of products, ive been twitting FBing and Google + all week and not had one sale, all ive probably done is to P off all my family and friends lol. I need a proper marketing plan. Where do I start to effectively gain online sales?
