Buying a Business on ebay? What do you think?

Almost 3 years to recoup your investment (on their income figures)...

What is your business instinct telling you?

For my part I could replicate that business AND achieve that income WITHOUT spending 2.5k

;)

Just spotted they even want you to pay nominet £12 +vat to transfer...says it all really.

Just another 'turnkey/reseller/affiliate' make you a million in 3 months gumpf offering IMHO.

I got a few of them and you can have one of them for a lot less the 2.5k LOL. (not for sale really mods, just making a point)

A friend of mine had a large eBay dropoff store business with physical premises and all. He sold the business to someone else. The eBay account was considered an asset of the business and there was no problem transferring it, including the feedback, to the new owner.

That said, the eBay account in question has to be set up as a business account, not a personal one, and you will do better with eBay if you can show the account is just one of a set of assets that are being transferred to the new owner. You'll want to have the terms of the sale set down on paper. eBay may ask for documentation.

Personally I would stay clear of buying any business from eBay. It is largely dominated by people wanting to make a quick buck.

You are better off by investing that 2.5k in your own website (if you have a good idea). Find a niche and make sure there is demand for the information and you can make a lot of money from advertising with your 2.5k.

Of course that is much easier said than done.

Good luck.

There's a growing trend for selling 'websites' as businesses on ebay and via the traditional routes like Daltons and businessesforsale.com. Be very careful as they normally use the word 'established' which doesnt actually mean that all. It means established as in setup but with no revenue.

In your example as others have said it is do-able yourself but needs consistent effort. Its just an affiliate site, nothing more.

You could seriously build that for £50 including domain name and WP theme. Infact I would suggest you could 'out-do' that site in terms of ranking and all the rest of it, with a little bit of digital elbow grease and some patience. Then rinse and repeat. You could build an empire of 50 sites for that £2.5k investment. £75 pm x 50 is a much more attractive £3750 pm! :)

I don't know about ebay, but there are sites such as ebay that specialize in selling just businesses, you can just look at internet businesses if that's what you're looking for. I think some of them charge for you to be a member, I just looked for the free ones when I posted my business, search for sites like business agents.co, that should be a good starting point.

Good luck
