Hi All,

I have a client thats been looking into licencing more than 1 pc with office professional 2010 they want the licence to be able to cover upto 5 pc's

I understand theres a licence called a "volume" licence and have been told this is the best option.

I looked into this and its a MINE FIELD. I have had quotations ranging from £450 for the licence to cover all 5 machines to £300 per machine to £179 each machine. I even looked at a company website in the U.S.A and they were offering indvidual licences for £65 (time you did the currency conversion) but a uk based company suggested the licence would show as issued in the U.S.A and so you wouldnt get tech support (if ever need'd) from the U.K

So my question is simple. Can anyone suggest a good supplier of these licences can can quote for one licence on one machine and also a licence that would cover office professional on upto 5 machines.

The client isnt to fussed if the licence includes or not the option for free upgrades when office 2012 is released. They just want a good price even if its per machine and they have to buy several licences.

Feel free to p.m me if you wish

:D

They're telling you porkies.

The US version of Windows is no different to the UK version.

There are a few different options when it comes to Microsoft licensing.

In essence there are 3 different ways to buy Microsoft Office:

  • Product Key Card (PKC) - For activating office on a new PC
  • Full Packaged Product (FPP) - The boxed retail products
  • Volume Licensing - Designed for companies with 5 PCs +
If you already have the machines and they are not recent purchases, FPP or Volume licensing will be your two options.

To be honest, volume licensing tends to be sold more on the advantages than price (i.e one product key for all your machines, can install on TS, spreading payments or subscribing with Open Value).

If price is the only factor you will usually find FPP or the electronic download versions will be cheaper. However you may get more value from volume licensing, especially if spreading payments is an option.

As with Steve, we can provide most options which I'd be more than happy to send you pricing for. However you may find some useful information and prices on our purchasing site in my signature.

I hope this help.
Thanks

Just to confuse things I am going to add Office 365 Month by Month purchasing also.

£12.75 / month / user for Office 2010 Professional Plus

or

£10.25/ month / user for Office 2010 Professional Plus if paid annually.

The added benefit being that when they release the next version of Office you get that also and continue to get new versions as long as you're paying the subscription.

Secondary bonus is that you can have 5 concurrent installs per user. So one at home, one in the office, one ....errr. somewhere else :)

Forgot to say give me a shout if you would like a signup
