Low traffic. Need help

Good morning to all of you.

I have a big problem with a lack of traffic to our site www.teamholiday.co.uk. I mean Im doing everything. I have submitted it to lots of directories and other related sites also we wrote lots of articles. Recently we have edited our site and done other SEO things but still no results.

So please can you tell me what we are doing wrong? Or maybe our services are not interested to the UK audience. Can you suggest me some other ways to promote our site? (We provide corporate entertainment services for UK companies in Lithuania (The Baltic States)).

PS. I believe the main problem could be the lack of time. We are live only for five months, but if Im correct, how to explain it to my boss?

Hi there,

tell me the phrases you are running your campaign for and I'll take a look. My guess that it is a time factor, but if I have a look I can probably give you some evidence to back that up, which you can show it to your boss.

Hi Axxe,

Have you looked into how many people are searching for those specific phrases?

Maybe be a bit more generic and then sell them into Lithuania as a destination.

I think Adprecision has hit the nail on the head.

There aren't a lot of people actively looking for those terms.

A better search engine strategy would be to go after related terms that people are going after and trying to win them over to the idea of adding Lithuania to the mix.

Thanks for your comments. I really appreciate it.

You see phrases such as corporate entertainments, corporate events, team building services are very competitive and it is very difficult to win some traffic with them. Sure I have searched for third of fourth level key phrases in some keyword analyzers, but found their nothing useful so I though adding Lithuania to it could make them more competitive.
Anyway I will search for some other phrases again.
PS. Maybe you have any thoughts? And maybe you know any useful analyzers on the web? Except overture

Hello,

Have you done an analysis of your site to pick up extra keywords?

I'd also bid a limited budget on generic but pre-qualifying the traffic by adding in Lithuania to the advert.

Apart from PPC I would suggest picking up the phone and stalking HR departments alongside exhibiting at some trade shows.

Hi,

it's a great looking site with some excellent backlinks, but there are some issues. I agree that "Corporate entertainments in Lithuania" is a bit of an unusual term to target. I ran a check with this tool:
tools.seobook.com/general/keyword/

and it turned up 0 searches for that keyword phrase. I would have thought "travel Lithuania" (600 searches a month) and other variations on "incentive" would be better for your industry. I would use the above tool and also you have a look at your server logs to see what keyword phrases are being used by visitors to your site.

In any case you don't have those keyword phrases on your homepage, and that's a big no no! I'd add a lot more text content to you site too, with your important keywords in there. I'd add articles on the importance of corporate activities, team building etc. to make the site more of a resource in the eyes of Google. Also I'd have a look at your page titles. The home page has the title "dreamholiday" which is a big waste of an important tag for ranking purposes. I'd go for more keyword rich tags, but don't spam with them. Make them unique and relevant to the page - the same applies to your keywords and description meta tags.

I'd also get rid of the robots revisit meta tag. You have yours set to 7 days. Google, for example will probably try to visit your homepage daily, but usually only makes a deep crawl on something more like a fortnightly basis to sites with your PR. Deep crawls are really important for your site, and it's possible that if you get a home page visit on the Monday, you might miss out on a deep crawl at the weekend - but I'm not sure about that, and you should check your server logs for search engine crawl frequencies.

Last thing, if you so a search for "Corporate entertainments in Lithuania", you aren't in the top 500 results in Google UK. However, if you do an allinchor search (which relates to the number of backlinks - a very important factor in ranking) then you are at #1 for allinanchor:Corporate entertainments in Lithuania

That's very likely because Google have put you in their sandbox, which is essentially a holding period for those backlinks to mature. After the sandbox period is over, 6-12 months depending on the industry, then you will probably rank #1 for that keyword phrase. The Google sandbox is a very controversial topic, but many new sites end up in it in my experience, and there's not much you can do to get out of it.

In the meantime you should add as much text content to your site as possible with every conceivable variation of keyword phrases you can imagine. Similar for yor backlink campaign. It's like fishing with a bigger net...

I would say entertainment (singular) rather than entertainments (plural) because that's what people are more likely to type on a search.

I agree with you that currently we are still in a Googles sandbox, and I understand that at least for two months we will stay in it.

Hi Donatas,

I didn't those articles... I think you should link them directly from the homepage actually, I know space is tight.

I would also put your article snippets and links on this PR3 page:
http://www.teamholiday.co.uk/articles

rather than on the PR0 one they are on now. Maybe you should make a sitemap and link to it from every page to help with crawling.

All are very good ideas, most will also work when applied correctly. However, what I have found in my short time period in internet marketing (from some legends) you sometimes need to think outside the box. I used to pull my hair out in frustration searching for methods of attracting more traffic. I now get PAID for my traffic using a great systematic method.
However, there is one good traffic site. Look for traffic swarm on google and join.
This works really well.
