Very Suspicious Order

    Have had an order, credit card person livees in Durham and all details match up but person being delivered to lives in Birmingham, were out fo stock of colour of one thing they wanted and emailed them, they emailed back saying this other colour is fine can I ship their stuffs as soona possible, suspicious because they are shipping it to another person so far away.

    Security Code Postcode name all that malarchy matched up, it's a small order for £15 what you all think?

    As steve says there could be a multitude of reasons why this might be so.

    Have you tried doing a 'Code 10' with your credit card's bank?

    You could also ask if they have another card they could pay with, so you can collborate the information, most fraudsters will only have one card per identity. Or in some cases I have known retailers ask for a photocopy of a passport.

    If you're selling online I would seriously recommend getting VBV (Verified by Visa) and Mastercard Securecode as added security.

    There are hundreds of reasons why someone may want an alternative delivery address to that of their billing address as others have mentioned. Of cause you could consider enacting a policy that first orders must go to the registered billing address and only second orders can go else where (some web companies also impose a time scale of 6 weeks or so in addition to the 2nd order rules).

    Thought about alternative address but would expect the billpayer when they email to say can you dispatch the goods, whereas they said 'dispatch the goods to me soon as possible' in muffled English! The goods aren't technically going to them. They passed all the security checks and we do have verified by visa and mastercard securecode but Protx have got to release the update for it to work with VSP Direct.

    Personally I would still say "dispatch the goods to me" even if they are going to the alternative address as I have ordered/ bought the goods then in my head they are still mine even if they are going straight to a friend etc.

    Personally, though it is easy for me to say as it isnt my money, I would follow the request of the customer as they have passed all the checks and things like not having the worlds best english isnt really an acceptable crime to prejudice against, but consider changing your rules on first orders/ alternative addresses for future orders.
