Stripping

As you might be aware, for client convenience, most of my design work is carried out via email.

For tax/legal reasons, I retain all emails for a minimum of five years and as you might imagine, my Outlook Express folders are getting pretty bulky what with all the attached images going to and fro'.

Is there any way that I can strip out all the imagery from these emails but retain the text correspondence?

Cheers,

Mark :)

Stripping out? Sorry, don't know OE well enough.
But you could archive globally and save to DVD, or archive each job and save to DVD/CD.

Ah, yes I know about that, thanks. :)

I just need to strip the images out but keep the text.

In which case you should consider a better solution than Outlook Express on a single PC. IMHO OE is very much the "Wintendo" version of Outlook, and you might consider changing to Outlook proper, or another mail client such as Thunderbird. Both will give you the chance to archive old stuff.

If that archived data really matters to you, then the arrangements for storing it must include off-site, so that you are protected from the risks of fire and theft.

Not easy if you are a sole operator, but there is certainly one member here offering an off-site backup service.

Cheers, I can archive fine in OE but it's the images I want to get rid of (as they're stored seperately elsewhere).

...hmmm.
