As i undertstand it the new regulations will come into force October 2011,what i want to know is how this will effect current agnecy workers will they be laid of in their hundreds with companies choosing to start afresh, and avoiding giving out permant contracts?

Or will it be cheaper keeping current staff on long terms contracts, rather than using new agency workers in 11 week blocks?

de Poel are helping lots of companies and agencies to implement a solution to the Agency Workers Regulations and by no means are any of them wanting to stop using temporary agency workers. They understand that the use of temps is key in a recovering economic climate.

There are a number of solutions to the regulations that are to be considered, which don't necessarily mean that temps will only be employed in 11 week blocks.
