Hello :)

My name is Geoff. I am still an employee (boo) but I am looking very seriously into running my own software development company.

In my day job I design and develop software so I am fine on the technical side but I have very little experience on the commercial front. For example: I have no experience of bid work and have never seen a contract so I need to bridge this gap before I can begin. Any help appreciated. At the moment I am looking for a template NDA and an appreciation for what a software development contract would look like. Of course I am willing to give advice in return and will surely volunteer advice anyway even if I am not asked :D

Hi Geoff and welcome.

NDA templates have come up as a topic on the forums a few times. try searching for the term and you might find someone who could supply one :)

Thanks for the tip. ... Now I have introduced myself I guess I won't be considered a cold caller if I do pm a couple of peeps for an NDA :)

Duane, thanks for the offer. Andy kindly sent me an NDA last night.


btw. For the last 6 years I have designed and developed systems using Java/J2EE. Before that I was a C/C++ chappy.

I have a real passion for what I do and I am looking forward to leaving the corporate nest to start up a new company with a couple of trusted and equally passionate buddies.
