Accountants - for older people

I am looking for an accountant for my mother who has inherited investments/bonds, property rents and the like and her current book-keeper is about to retire. Whilst I have done straight forward book-keeping in the past I have not kept records such as these. I am hoping that I can find someone to help me set this up on computerised system for me to do the entering and then an accountant to submit to the Revenue at the end of the year.​

Unless your Mother has a substantial property/investment portfolio some summary sheets on Excel would be fine.

As long as you keep some form of income and expenses summary a tax return for this type of person is relatively simple for any good accountant and shouldnt be very costly.

I dont know any accountants in your area (not even sure we have any on the forum as far North as you) but lots of us on the forum act for clients all over the UK being online, myself included.

Thanks for the replies - at present she is on the South Coast in West Sussed but is meant to be coming up to stay with me in the future. Although 84 she is used to using a laptop - she has been used to having him visit a couple of times a week and deal with all the paperwork straight out of the envelope ! Not sure exactly the extent of things until I get to see it for myself but will definitely be looking for help - from one end of the country or the other !

Fantastic - my inlaws gave up when I tried to show them, Father in Law decided at 77 it wasnt any good for ''oldies like him'' :):) Such a shame.
