I currently use Parallels to run Sage on my Mac, which works fine. Much more choice for accounting packages with windows.

Look at one of the online offerings, such as Xero, which run through a browser and are therefore independent of the machine

I'm a Mac user too and looked at all avenues for an accounting package. There are actually a few out there - but for one reason or another weren't suited for my needs. I essentially wanted something akin to Solar Accounts for a Mac. Nano Accounts looked promising - but isn't yet compatible with 10.6...
Anyway I am currently opting for Accounts Portal. One of the cheaper online systems that is easy to use and flexible. Give it a go as you get 30 days free.

Have you managed to look at Brightpearl? It's an online application so whether you are a Mac or PC does not matter.
They have a 30 day free trial and after that, the cost of the accounting module is from £12 per user per month.

I'm self-employed and personally use Microsoft Money, running under Parallels *haven't quite found quite a nicer equivalent yet.
