buzz-promotions

A revolution is happening at my company

I am going to try and become a sole trader business, I have raised all the capital that I need, and now I need a bit of information on what forms i need to fill in, and companies/organisations that I need to register with

Thanks for the advice so far...!

Matt

As far as I'm aware, you don't need any money to be a sole trader. You don't need to register yourself with Companies House, just let the Inland Revenue know you exist.

Tom's right, I'm a sole trader and all you need to do is register with the Tax and NI people. No money needed for that!

If you get an accountant, they'll do all that for you.

Take a look at these guides.

There from the "horses mouth" so are really useful.

> Working for yourself - The Guide (PDF, 155k) - http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/startingup/working-for-yourself.pdf

> This one includes a few Q&A's and also has the forms required for registration - NIC, etc - http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/leaflets/se1.pdf

Don't forget about the 3 month period as well from "starting out" to actually getting round to registering (this can result in a fine) - i've heard from others that its currently taking 6 weeks + for IR to process all registrations atm! - must be the TV advertising campaign!

Hi Matt

Best of luck with the company. I know you said the company was being run as an enterprise scheme originally so sounds like you're doing well. How old are you if you don't mind me asking?

It's no problem Hayles, I'm 16...although people ask if I have the business knowledge, I have built up a knowledge of my potential market and the running of the business through the enterprise scheme :D

Well good for you!

And your keyrings were excellent.

Great service - ordered them on Monday afternoon and they were with us on Friday morning. Highly recommended.

Best of luck with the business. Remember you'll have hard times but learn as much as you can from everyone else on here and you'll do well.

Thanks very much Hayley, I'm sure you people will continue to give me the advice that I need as you have so far! :D

I have already learnt from some mistakes, and I hope I will continue to do so!

Excellent Matt nice one! Later on you'll find what a massive advantage you will have over a lot of the other guys who only start to get into a business environment in their early twenties.

I started at pretty much the same age as you and the amount that I have learned (usually through my own mistakes :D) in these three years has been phenomenal.

Make sure to keep us all updated regularly with whats going on, it'll be really interesting to see where this goes for you. :)

You may have seen my post in the "Introductions" part of the forum?

As they enterprise group I split from has decided to carry on as lifecapture I have now become nameless!

Will decide on a new name and logo very soon, and business will be underway within the next few weeks!

BUZZ

I've come up with this name and it is fairly unique from what I have researched!

I will be using the name as either BUZZ-KEYRINGS or BUZZ-PROMOTION

So what do you guys think, just to get some feedback before I go ahead with it

Matt :D
