does that mean you get your money back if one messes up? I only had a quick look at the site, and signed up with an email address I use for things that require an email address for confirmation mails etc. I wasnt happy about the site not being secure since I had to put in my email username, pop details and password. Anyway I signed up, changed my outlook settings as per the instructions and sent a test mail from another account to prove I could recieve mail ok - no mail, that was about 10 mins ago, no mail yet, but I'll post back my poinions on it after I have used it for a while. (should my opinions not be wanted, please pm me!)

I'll agree with that.

I didnt recieve my test mail yet but got one from clearmymail sying there was a problem so I reentered my details - may well have been a typo

ok, I see how it works now, instead of recieving the email, you get a mail from clearmymail with a list of people that have sent mail, you then have to say if you should allow the sender/senders domain or block it - nothing that outlook or outlook express cant do as far as I can see. and since its an HTML mail, people with text based email may have a problem.

Best thing to do is to run the system for a couple of days and then check the "Deleted Messages" under the members area of the website to see just how much it has blocked...

I'll try it for a bit and see, if it really does what it says without loads of configuration then it looks like a winner. I am very dubious (as you may have guessed) about such things but I'll have a play and continue to post results/opinions here which will hopefully help others.

I was also wondering if there was an option for other than a single email address, they do an enterprise edition but theres not a lot of info on the site about it - just says ask for a quote or more details. I am also wondering if they offer reduced rates for several email addresses.
I got a mail today which is clearly spam but it still asked me to aprove/disaprove it.

I find that the junk mail function offered by Mozilla Thunderbird is perfectly good for dealing with quanities of spam - it gives you the opporitunity to "teach" the system behind it what is and what isn't spam by simply selecting junk items and it gives you the chance to go through your junk messages for anything which could be legitimate and of importance and has accidently been filtered as junk.

I agree that software can filter very well if used properly, be it the mail client or a plug in. But the advantage of this type of system is that you dont have to actually download anything for the filter to do its job - not a major problem with many people having a fast connection, but for someone on dialup this would be an ideal solution.

Well,

So far it has blocked 69% and the blocked ones are genuine. I've had a few mails from them with emails they are unsure of but I have to admit, its pretty good.
I might trial it on my normal personal email address yet.

It all sounds confusing to me, how anyone can decipher what is spam or not I never know.
Wasn't GMail supposed to be pretty much spam free?
I haven't had a problem with them, the occasional one slips through but that's about it.
I wouldn't think there was a market for 'paid' email accounts anymore?
