I Love Spreadsheets

Hi All,

This is my first question on here so please be gentle with me:D

For the last couple of months I have been writing an article or two for my blog on spreadsheets etc (mainly Excel tips and tricks)

My question is how do I make the most out of this in regards to SEO? What should I be doing to promote the blog.

All the blog listing sites seem to want money or links back to them and I'm not keen on either. Mainly because of limited funds and I have spent a lot of time and effort getting my site the way I like it.

Cheers

Instead of the links saying 'read more' try using the actual title of the article
Make your posts longer, more words and less banner. Maybe give a real world example of why you need to remove holiday dates or whatever?

Generally though I think you have the right idea and it's the kind of thing people will bookmark and link to - which is what you want to happen.

Socialise your blog, if its wordpress get the SEO plugins, submit your site to the free blog directories, bookmark your main blog page to the social bookmarking sites [digg, mixx, etc] that will help

Hey Carl

Best tips I can give are
- use wordpress
- use wordbook (plugin that displays blog post on your fb wall) and a twitter plugin
- socialise plugin (socialise, addthis etc) (displays a list of buttons of services for visitors to publish your post too)
- platinum seo - enables you to seo your blog so much better, descriptions etc
- get your rss feed displayed in your 4networking sig and on your main site (sigmyfeed.com and feedburner will work fine.)
- sign your rss feed upto rss feed directories

Does anyone have any tips or articles on backing the whole site up (database, templates, php, graphics etc) with the minimum of fuss
