Converting publisher file to illustrator?!?!

I have done some work on publisher and the people i'm sending it to need it in Illustrator format so they can alter (if req'd) and print it.

Is there a way of doing this?

If anyone has any other suggestions that would be great!

Have you looked at Adobe PageMaker 7.0

or trying to convert it into a more generic format such as PDF first then back.
