A bit like a breadmaker - sounds like a good idea until you get one and it sits in the cupboard unused until you eventually get rid of it!

Major problem was it couldn't be used with Internet Explorer so was limited to its market by design and secondly it is web based, people go on about moving traditional apps like email, word etc to the "web" but in my experience they don't deliver, they are usually slower and less featured and obviously rely on a "contended" Internet connection to work. I'm sure most of you have experienced the 5-8pm slowdown as the kids get on the net in the evening.

This news really does not surprise me, I tried it with a big group, it was interesting for a little bit but I couldn't find a use for it that my email and IM clients didn't already fulfil.

Well I am not in the 'well its made by Google so it will be successful' camp as I believe too many people think that whatever they do they cannot fail. Don't get me wrong they are a truly innovative company but it proves even the mighty G can get it wrong.

We trialled this and it works well, its a fantastic tool and if everyone used Wave from today then it would be a massive success but without mass take up we will be staying with standard email clients for the foreseeable future I reckon.

We tried to use Wave but from a usability point of view it was terrible. We didn't want to spend out time trying to work it out when there are plenty of intuitive email clients. Good idea to scrap it.

We're fortunate to have innovative companies like Google who will take a punt by spending lots of money on new ideas like this.

I only used it briefly and couldn't really see what all the fuss was about to be honest. But it looked very clever.

I hope Google goes on coming up with radical new ideas. I thought you couldn't do anything new with email and then they came up with gmail. And I love google maps, and streetview blew me away.

Out so soon? Well couldn't ever make what it was really. Let's see what's next from Google.

I'd say they're getting their nose into too many stuff. Your search, your e-mail, your conversations, your documents, your home videos, your friends (which seems to be another failed project from them). The next thing is to have your files (like dropbox), your music and your school grades and they'll know everything about you. Don't really like that about a company

I never got to grips with it, when it did finally alert to added comments they are sometimes over 40 mins later, hardly a real time system.

I had high hopes, hopefully they will go away and revise the problems and make it work.
