A simple (And free preferably) mailing list / email list

I am after a bog standard system which lets people input their emails into a box, when they click submit, they will be on my mailing list.

Not sure how it would work, or what interface I would have to use, but when I send out an email, all of those people will receive this email.

This is important to me as I have a good idea for my business, but need to keep everyone who's ever used me, 'on file' so I can update them.
 
I can recommend mail chimp there is a free version. It is great for mailing out emails and you can embed code on your website where people can add themselves to your mailing list. You can look at what this looks like if you go to our contact page you will see it right at the bottom.

Our system does all what you asked for and MUCH more, you can have auto responders for your list, track who opened the emails and at what time, split test campaigns and the list goes on and on and on...
