Hi
I have just registered for VAT but in the past few months have purchased a number of goods for resale from other EU countries, I have paid VAT on these and still have them in stock, am I correct in saying I can just recover the £ equivalent of the foreign VAT on my first VAT return?
Also am I correct in saying that my suppliers should be zero rating their supllies to me now that I am VAT registered if so how do I get them to do this?
If I can get them to do this am I right in saying I still have to include this on my VAT return as follows e.g. €100 purchase translated = £50 estimated
Box 2 = 8.75
Box 4 = 8.75
Box 9 = 50.00
No additional VAT payable or recoverable.
Thanks in advance
