YEM

Hi All,

Today has been extremely surreal.

We arranged an interview with Duncan Bannatyne for issue 6 of YEM. We arrived nd carried out the interview as we normally do - great news for YEM! Then as our photographer was taking photos Duncan kind of gave us a tour of his offices and health club

Anyway, Duncan took us out to his warehouse where he showed us the most amazing American classic car (I can't remember what it was - sorry) and then took us for a tour of his health club and finally sat down with us for a coffee and a chat. Imagine that!

What a nice down to earth bloke he is - he even gave us a contact of his which is great news (also high profile although its all hush hush at the moment so can't disclose)

Rachel Elnaugh two weeks ago and Duncan Bannatyne today - hooray for YEM!

well done. i have had a one to one with Duncan i say one to one infront of 80 business people and a tv crew, but whos counting, i found him down to earth too a real straight talker.

Michael

Well done again

I really like him, first i thought he was a typical moody scotsman but then it dawned on me he was just saying what we all thought.

I think that guy is great. Started from ice cream vans.

Did you know that he also has his own entrepreneur magazine? The Sharp Edge?

Regards

I'll repeat Jayne's question because no one answered..

Umm who is he? :)

he is one of the 'dragons' from the tv show, he has made a few quid (200 million or so) from an assortment of businesses at the moment casino's and gymnasiums i believe.

I've never watched Dragons, so I wouldn't have known. Business people don't get me that excited on TV, now a film star, that would be much more interesting for me personally.

The sharpe edge isnt his magazine, he just appeared in the first one.

Duncan actually has a stake in The Sharp Edge and the content gets his go ahead before it goes to print!

Nice one YEM. I just bought 2 of your issues from your Website. Where can I get the current issue?

You can get the current issue by subscribing (see my sig) or you can wait until April, when the next issue is out to buy it as a back issue

Does anyone know when the next issue of the sharp edge is out to buy? I picked up issue 1 in mid december, and its supposed to be released every two months I think.

Cheers

Do you need editorial for your magazine...?

I can provide LOTS, especially on Business Angels and Small Firms Loan Guarantees. :)

Nice one. I hadn't heard of YEM until now, but must get a copy. I'm a writer for Better Business magazine and author of The Small Business Start-Up Workbook (http://www.smallbusinessworkbook.com)and have also interviewed Rachel Elnaugh (plus Simon Woodroffe, but not Duncan).

I often find it quite inspirational to meet successful people of all types and find out how they did it, how they manage and juggle, what their priorities are, and so on. And it's often refreshing to see how nice they are: both Rachel and Simon were genuinely nice and interesting to talk to.

If you need any more writers for YEM by the way, please let me know where I can send some examples of my work for your consideration.

Thanks and keep up the good work
