How do I set this up so it just uses the free £30 voucher I have? Its asking for my billing information and Im concerned at how much I could end up being charged.

Thanks

Don't worry. They'll only start charging after you've used up your free £30 credit. I've used these vouchers before on new accounts and they only charge when you've used the free credit.

Where did you get the voucher from?

Im with UK reg and they gave it free to me on each domain name I have. When I tried to sign up I notice that Google charge you £5 for the privilige though, that seems a little strange?

I think the £5 will be deducted from the value of your voucher, so your £30 will pay for £5 sign-up fee and then you'll have £25 worth of AdWords credit.

I too had a £50 voucher from Lycos, but was concerned when Google wanted a credit card or bank account transfer of at least the same amount. I never did use that vouncher!

Aww thanks Matt. I am a tad suspicious of google since I used to have their Ads on my site and then they suddenly told me I had broken the terms and conditions just before they were due to send me a big payout. When when I emailed asking them how I had done that they would never tell me! I have since read quite a few stories about this happening though.

Hi,
The £5.00 is a 'one time' registration that they charge and it will be deducted from your 30.00 voucher. When I registered they gave me the option of either pre pay or post payment method. I chose post pay and gave my debit card number and haven't had any problems. They bill me at the end of the month.
What you need to do is go through the registration process and put a daily budget limit of say £5.00 on. From there on you have control over how much you are spending and you can pause/stop the account with immediate effect. From logging on to your account you can see exactly how much you have spent and when you get to your £25 budget limit - you can then stop your ads This gives you the flexibility to choose the days or whenever you want to advertise.
I log on at least once a day and if I have spent enough on the day I just pause the campaign.
I have no problem with it.
Hope this helps.
Anne :D
