Wakefield
This is only my second post :p

Having just spent 7 years living in London, i am now happy to be back home to the place where i was born - Wakefield !!

Things have changed so much; the new Bull Ring, Trinity Walk, The Hepworth Gallery and more. I understand the new developments total over £100 million in investment. Not bad for a compact city such as Wakefield.

Let's hope things prosper under the new government.

Anyone else from Wakey ??

I'm from Barnsley so near enough! Lots of redevelopment going on here too. A great place to run a business from!

Im from doncaster south yorkshire so not to far really. Again a fair amount has been spent recently but not on the dam potholes!!!

Yeah and it's too much hassle to take a photo and send it to the council. THe state of the roads here is terrible!

I looked into this after a buckled wheel but they needed pictures of the whole measurement etc & then was advised it could be 6 months + to even get them to look at it, more hassle than its worth. I have no idea where all the money goes that we pay. it seems to all be on the motorway road works with concreate barries these days. On another note on our councils wasting money, there is a car park across from our work that is pay & display but only has about 8 places & they have out up a cctv which doesnt monitor the cars it just simply looks down & watches the pay machine - What a waste of cash !

I went to school in Wakefield - the one which produces murderers - and still pay my council tax to WMDC.

I have often seen Lucy's sign when travelling along Denby Dale Road:)

I'm Wakefield born and bred and it never ceases to amaze me how much it changes each time I go back. Highlight for me is still a proper piece of fish but unfortunately, it's getting harder to find a hand drawn pint of bitter. Mister B
