However it is possibly due to you being a discerning buyer, and not an ignoramus.
A similar scenario exists in Bricks & Mortar retail outlets.
If I walk into an electrical shop to buy a TV, I look at the aesthetics of the physical unit, its features, its interfaces, the picture quality and try to visualise it in my living room or study.
It takes time for me to evaluate the permutations, and last thing needed is for this evaluation phase to be interrupted by some sales assistant, who would not appreciate my decision making methods.
When left with two or three alternatives, only then would I ask him/her for input.
If my dear old mother walked in, she would require help from the outset as not a technically discerning buyer, but even then would still appreciate a few mins of familiarisation time with the surroundings. Perhaps being a woman , she would be able to multitask better and converse with the sales assistant while watching the demo films.
