Windows 7 and Outlook

I think they may mean Outlook Express.
Windows Live Mail is the mail client for Windows 7 (Outlook Express appears to have died). Of course, there will be hundreds of opensource / freeware alternatives.
If the OP meant the MS Office Outlook, then I am certain this will still run on Windows 7.

does it need to be Outlook or are you happy to use an other email client? Outlook has advanced features and connects perfectly with other systems like sharepoint, but if you just use outlook for email/calenda/ contacts etc. it might be worth look at eg. mozilla thunderbird which is free

Its not that you cant use it with windows 7 just you dont get outlook with it anymore.
We are using the Outlook from the 2010 Beta Office and it works fine, its release is very soon.
Purchasing Office 2007 comes with an upgrade to 2010 upon release
Check with the vendor beore purchasing that this is the case.

May I ask what features in 2010 you recommend worth upgrading to, over those in 2007. I don't mean that cheekily, but interested in feedback as you are a beta user.
I use 2007 , and thinking of upgrading the office network in the summer. In old versions of Ms Office, the navigation was lovely, but that ribbon was the bane of my life for an age, as I just couldn't relate to it.
I could read the MS reasons for upgrading, but interested in an objective users view on the product.
I was forced into using 2007 because clients were using it and the new docx format, however I never liked the product. One plus point for me was that Outlook seemed to be taken to a higher level, and that part of Ms Office alone, kept me a follower.

I am running Windows 7 and Outlook. I replaced my Vista with Windows 7. I find Windows 7 to be great.

Theres nothing that screams out to me from 2007 to 2010 but some of the outlook features are pretty handy.
The feature where opening a read only file has a simple prompt at the top saying woul dyou like to edit this click yes and you can was pretty cool
no more fiddling about with user rights and properties of the document.
havent tested on a passworded file however.
I use it rarely just got it as a beta tester but ill prob to stick to my openoffice.org system as it does everything and is free.
I read that the 2010 has 3 user licenses in it so 1 copy per 3 machines is pretty good but it might be just on the beta.
There are a few bug where it crashes but thats expected and will hopefully be ironed out in final release.
Tested with windows 7, home office, ultimate and ultimate signature edition. (few more features for those lucky to get a copy was free too lol)
