    Hi All,

    We are always interested in what issues people would like to read about in YEM (or other business publications for that matter).

    Therefore, please post your thoughts/ideas. What would you like to know more about? What interests you in business? What topics would you like to see addressed? Etc etc

    I would like coupons and offers. This is something we don’t do too well in the country, instead we have “sales” that seem to be on all year round. Allowing companies to put in offers and discounts would be a great way increase circulation.

    I have read your magazine and I think it is very good. I do want to see more success stories and more practical advice in the way of marketing. Also please add in Manchester to the networking events etc, I am sure there is a lot going on here but it is hard to find out where and when.

    Hi Matt,

    Thanks for your comments. We have all of the Manchester-based enterprise agencies and chamber of commerce on our database for events however they are very slow to send us the information. Unfortunately we can only list what we are sent and the Manchester-based organisations failed to send in their events before deadline, despite numerous reminders.

    With regards to offers and comps, we have areader offer and competition page each issue!

    Me too, it's cheesy but I read Eve magazine each month and they always feature women who have gone off and done something mad.

    As an example this months was a lady who bought an old piece of embroidered fabric from a brocante in France and made a cushion with it. Her friends loved it so much she started selling them at fairs etc. Now she goes to france every month to source antique fabric and turns over 100k per year selling at trade shows and her cusions are approx £40 each! I love stories like that as they give me and my business hope for the future.

    Hi Caroline & Claire,

    YEM features a wide variety of case studies and profiles, we focus on entrepreneurs rather than their business, however as with all good magazines, there needs to be a mixture of case studies and business stuff (accountancy/legal etc).

    We also have Clued Up? a regular feature that focuses on business/company/employment law and a regular accounting feature.

    Thanks Lucy, getting time to read is a luxury for me at the moment (after having my fourth child, running my current retail business, website and starting another business :shock: ) But if I do get time to read again I will look you up :wink:

    How about that entrepreneurs need to be thinking about an exit-strategy from the day they originally form their business. It's quite conceivable that they will earn more from the final sale of their company than the income it generates for them as a business owner. As such, things like "the distributing of the shareholding" are of paramount (better to give away a percentage of the profits than too much equity to investors, for example).
