Hi all,

I will start by saying what a great forum

I'm pretty new to this business thing.....as I am everything to do with my business venture, so I’m sure I’ll be seeking help and advice in many areas and this forum seems a good place to start.

My new business is marketing and selling of a new and very versitile invention/product. At the moment I’m sole trader but don’t actually know if that’s my best option, money is v'tight! (I gave up "normal" work 2 yr ago due to medical reasons; I was an engineer/cnc machinist/programmer)

I am looking to either acquire a loan/grant to kick it off properly as an investor/partner seems impossible to find + when you don’t know anybody...who can you trust!

The product is patented and I have an agreement with the inventor of the product so I can market and sell as I wish, although I still have to work out a fair percentage to pay the inventor for this right. If anybody can help here that would be great (i have also helped in the development of this product)

Hi Ady,

Welcome to the site.

Is your agreement with the inventor in writing? All checked over by legal people?

For a grant, depending on what the invention is you might find some thing suitable at www.j4bgrants.co.uk

The answer to this is...not yet(only verbally), still finalizing the agreement (accountant helping) and it will then be checked to make sure all is legal. Within next couple of weeks I’m hoping this should be sorted

It’s been hard road but I keep plodding, this time next year Rodney... :lol:
