Getting a train from Liverpool Street, London to Chelmsford, Essex is about 25 - 30 minutes.

Our offices are just opposite the train station in Chelmsford.

Coming from London to Chelmsford would be a nice journey as most people who live in Chelmsford work in London, so they will be traveling the opposite way.

It does. I used to do the journey down from Colchester and it's awful, no seats, crammed in like sardines. Going against the flow it's actually a nice journey. :)

I used to travel to London every day on the train, and Mattsaw is right. I used to stand there for 30 minutes with sweating people with bad breath all around me, YUK!

However going the opposite way, you can sit down and even put your feet up on the chair in front of you (not that I would do such a thing) as the train will be half empty.

Seo Positive:

You put up some interesting posts and I like the way you market your business.

keep up the good work, I know i'd be very tempted to use you for s.e.o

Tommy

Thanks Tommy!

3 reasons why I post on here.

1. I want to see transparency in the SEO industry, and pass on advice where I can.

2. There are always things everyone can learn, including me and the people in my company.

3. To be honest, "company exposure". It never hurts to get a little exposure for a brand.

Any more applications on this vacancy?

I have interviewed about half a dozen applicants, but I am still not getting that spark that you get when you know you found what you have been looking for.

CV's & pm's are welcome for the role.

I'm amazed you haven't got a couple of potentials from this forum given how keen so many people are to offer 'expert' seo advice :|

I think maybe because I am in Essex, and looking for someone to commute to the office everyday rather than being home based. Narrows it down a little.

I have had the odd enquiry from here though, and some from a few other places.

I was going to say that, its a tall ask to get a skillfull Seo in house unless your paying a very competative wage, i would think it wise to look at training a very capable person and maybe outsource a little of the repetative stuff untill that person is fully trained to your standards

Ps Liking your site its every where now well done to you guys..

We don't outsource. We pride ourselves in doing all our SEO in-house.

The salary package that were offering is very competitive, and is in place to appeal to experienced / Semi experienced SEO's.

Salary will be revealed to serious applicants only.

Well every other SEO agency has SEO's who are employees!!!!!!

Don't tell me all their SEO's are no good, or I will start getting worried for the future of the SEO industry as a whole.

No Comment! :D:p

I've never understood the employee mentality from either side, but it does strike me that the basics of SEO are easy to teach, so a trainee would be productive pretty much from the start and you get to teach them 'your way' :)

Certainly there is plenty of room for good, well trained people in this industry.

If an SEO is any good ,they are hardly likely to want to work for a wage.

Earl

It depends what that wage is.....

Most of the best SEOs I know work either for agencies or in-house these days. Being part of a bigger team leads to increased specialisation, greater work effeciency and greater opportunity.

To be honest I wouldn't want the hassle of being a self-employed SEO.

This brings me back to my earlier point that..... if your saying that good SEO's only work self employed or freelance, then I would be very worried about the millions of pounds that are paid to SEO companies with employed / wages SEO's in house.

I disagree with your statement sir earl, as I think taking someone on with a wage is a great idea for agencies, and the SEO's themselves, as we could all learn more working together, and it brings in a more desirable proposal for the client having multiple experienced SEO's working together rather than as freelancers against each other, and passing the blame on.

It won't be enough.;)

Most of the SEO's I know run there own business's,as well as taking on particular clients.but they are very fussy about what they work on.:)

Earl

Sir Earl, not all people want to people self employed, and would rather have a secure job, with secured income.

Not all people, but a good amount of people. Good job too, as where would the world be if everyone wanted to be self employed, working on their own???

And what hassle would that be...?

Billing, sales/pitching, marketing, advertising, accountancy, eveything that comes with running your own business. I can just get on with and spend time on what I'm good at.

Also bear in mind that being a one man band you have to be a jack of all trades. Heading up a team at an agency means we have linkbuilders, writers, technical specialists, conversion rate experts as well as in-house designers and coders. Increased specialisation leads to greater effeciency.

The same argument could go for lawyers, accountants, designers, marketers - why aren't all of them self-employed?
