We never send anything valuable by mail to the UK, and we ask relatives not to send things to us either. We learned years ago that items are stolen all the time - unfortunately at the UK end. Since you have to write the contents of a package on the customs label, it's obvious to the pilferers which packages to open. It's frustrating, but it's a fact of life.freecybermag said:

Try www.fudgeheaven.co.uk - run by a guy named Gaz (but don't hold that against him!!!). He apparently makes them himself from a little local farm.
Tried the choc & baileys truffle fudge swirls - they are melt in the mouth (and I'm not one for mixing my chocolate with anything else).
He does little gift boxes for £2.99 and I think postage is only £2.50 - only slightly over your budge!!!!

I have the story about knowing the postie a lot, but does the guy never get a day off? And is it really his job to keep a look out for all his drinking buddies' mail?
I won't hear too much said against Royal Mail because really they are very good value and they most often deliver within only a couple of days although everyone has a lost parcel story.
We get a large number of parcels back from the post office marked as Not Called For. Presumably most of the owners of these are blaming either us or Royal Mail for them not arriving when all that was needed was a quick check at the post office.
