Website company too Avoid!!!!!!!!!

BT Customer Street (ARE CRAP) Excuse the over use of the word Bt customer street.

I wanted to make this post due to the high volume of people i see posting about needing websites. Bt customer street are a website company owned by Bt they are all affiliated with ufindus . Bt customer street are an over expensive waste of money. Bt customer street charge far too much money too be listed in there low ranking search directorys. Bt customer street originally tell you what you are originally purchaseing is good and that it will look great they will work with you on getting it to number 1 a complete pile of rubbish all they want is the money there an then.

Avoid Bt customer street
The sales teams are dumb, they read from scripts all they ever spout out of there mouth is Bt this Bt that to show how genuine and what a great company they must be. Bt customer street have templates which they oversell as a website company they are all about speed and have no interest in what you are truely after. Bt customer street templates are absolutely awfull they are terrible, The posts form people on page 1 of google when you scroll down make for some very interesting reading. Bt customer street have streams and streams of dissatisfied customers.

Bt customer street get peoples numbers from free listings in directorys, if you are a new business and post in the yell.com free directory, you will more than lightly recieve a call from bt customer street. There are free templates that rank higher on google than Bt customer street.

If you do a get a call from them my advice tell them to P i ss off. Hope this info helps at least one person from making a mistake of choosing Bt customer street.

Customer Street is a long running nightmare for hundreds of unwitting people.

Apparenly it has been sold to BT, im not sure if this is genuine or not. It could well be.

12 months ago if you googled customer street all you would get is result pages containing complaint after complaint.

It seems they have worked hard to ensure their own pages rank highly but if you look hard enough you can find the complaints.

Heres a sample http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/bt-customer-street-c194757.html

and

http://www.tilersforums.co.uk/marketing/18712-bt-customer-street-scam.html

They have also been known as customer street, and ufindus and many more.

They typically either offer a website, or ring and ask if your busy, posing as a customer, then get into the sales pitch stating that they have loads of work in your area and offer to sell you leads, which then turns into advertising or a website, which turns out to be rubbish and over priced.

Then you cant cancel.

I havent heard the name for a while, I thought the company had died off, but obviously not, though if BT have genuinley become involved then you would like to think the company has become reputable.

I do not see why not? i am simply giving a feedback of an experience.

:|

Because it can be considered libel which is a legal offence/tort. BT probably won't take kindly to such words being said and it's not worth the hassle for UKBF.

It might not happen, but I've seen a number of threads removed from here when the business in question has complained or threatened legal action.

This is what i could not get, Bt a massive organization taking on a company of scammers.

Surely a large proportion of the people who have been wronged by BT customer street are changing there phone providers and internet providers.

I can only presume Bt do not care.......

If they class it as libel then they would have to class all the other existing sites as libel also. Theres no rule for one and one for another in this world. I like to think anyway.

Type Bt customer street into google and this forum thread sits on page 5 ready to go on to page 4, i would love this to get on the 1st page. I would get pleasure out of affecting Bt customer street sales. It would back up posts of late emphasizing how s.e.o friendly this site is.

I was holding out for an explanation to explain your outrage, until then you get no sympathy.

Consider this thread reported, and have a think about who's the real jackass to get conned.

Excuse me?????????????????????

I am explaining the poor service i have recieved from bt customer street,

What the hell are you talking about? report what?

I was indicating also that the forum is s.e.o. friendly so you can report what you like.

Reads like an unsubstantiated rant... Better to explain the facts and let others decide. Personally, I find anything with the BT name on it sucks... :)

Massey have you had experience with them. In which case you can say what you want so long as you use your name and your details and have proof. Third party hearsay is not allowed.
You are correct about BT buying customer street off IO mart who were the company behind Ufindus, Smilelocal, Moreuk.
Bt purchased the company to gain directories on which they planned to build bt trading places.
I have yet to see what they plan to do with it because BT trading places seems to stand alone.

In which case more details please.:D
If it will help others then this thread will be well appreciated.

Its not so much a rant but advice, It may come across as a rant because i am slighty irritated with myself for wasting money with bt customer street. But i am starting to go that way my self bt suck.

Found this on their website.....

BT announced their purchase of Ufindus Ltd, which owns and operates the Customerstreet network of sites, on the 9th of July for £20 million. Following the acquisition, Ufindus Ltd will play an important role in the continuing growth of BT Directories' new media business.

Now all BT need to do is claw that £20 mill back somehow ;) At least Ufindus is a cool name, but does anyone truly search Customer street???

The web seems to be about aquiring web property and power games, still 20 million for a directory aint bad huh.

£20m is crazy money. To be fair BT could turn any directory round with the amount of advertising they can afford. Prime time TV ads, free phone book listing etc.

You've done nothing of the sort! Like someone pointed out earlier, an incoherent rant.

What I'm saying is you have to tell us what happened. Let the reader make up their own mind.

Basically they phone you up, promise all sorts but do not deliver. They mislead you as to what you domain name will be, i.e they stick (-) between each word, Now thats irritating to say the least!. They originally tell you what you are buying "will look great" and it literally is a peice of s.h.i.t, there templates are so dated and awful, They tell you if you design stuff yourself they will upload it for free (they charge) They say how wonderfull there bt listings are and they are again s.h.i.t., I logged in to see what the click times were from there listings are, now i had clicks from all three of there directorys in the space of 3 minutes, now how obvious is it that it was some one from bt customer street clicking the directory link, I made a foolish mistake with these, and then to top it off you pay for the poor site and then they want to charge you £35 pounds a month to list in the awful directorys. And if you cancel the listings they cancel the whole site out of spite, yet they have already scammed you out of £600. And prior to canceling they phoned me wanting a grand to make something "more bespoke" now that is taking the p.i.s.s. there a complete joke you never want any type of Bt webdesign company to do anything for you.

People are allowed and entitled to their opinion. People need to know about this. This is a business forum; we are all businesspeoples and need to be aware of these things hence its creation!

I'm well aware of this. My point is that in the past some complaint threads have been removed when the business in question has complained about it.

So you can personally think what you like about entitlement of opinion. It could still happen.

What are you trying to say? That we should self censor our posts in case some large company starts throwing their weight around?

And WTF does 'entitlement of opinion' mean? (Although I'm forever grateful that you allow me to think what I like about it.)

This is a dumb thread, with lots of shouty shouty EXCLAMATION marks !!!! The OP should have known better perhaps than to use BT. He could perhaps also have known better than to do a toys out of pram post about it. Caveat emptor and all that: would you buy anything from BT if there was a viable alternative? But perhaps he saved some other people from making the same mistake, which is a function of a forum, surely, and no bad thing?

My post has absolutely nothing to do with you, or your opinions, or anything you can/cannot do.

I simply made a statement that I believed this thread would be deleted based on what I've seen over the last 2 years. It's nothing more than that. To be honest I'm quite baffled that you managed to take 'censor all your posts' out of what I said.

Threads like this are great and should be used actively to root out bad businesses. However, my point is that the thread could have still went (seems like it won't now) no matter what our opinions are.

The censor bit was a rhetorical device.
As a copy writer I presume you know what one of those there thangs are, but in case not, it's a way of asking a question so as to maximise the managementation of my entitlement of opinion. But this is going past the boundary of futility.

I must say that I have no idea what you're talking about. I suppose you've made those spelling mistakes and conjured up the word 'managementation' on purpose too? I've never quite understood your way to be honest. Strange man.

Putz.
Lets spell it out for the lad.
I'm trying (and obviously failing) to take the piss out of your use of the term 'entitlement of opinion', which, in my opinion, is redolent of some of the management speak garbage which is blathered everyday. To take the piss a bit further, when you so clearly missed it with the goody two shoes prissiness of "My post has absolutely nothing to do with you, or your opinions, or anything you can/cannot do" I went further along the track of gobbledegook with unmissable, (or so I thought, my sledgehammer must be wearing out), overstatement in the fashion of George Bush, and his verbal knot-tying. Sorry. I must have misoverstatementalized the capabilitation of your cognitionary systems.
Ho hum.
Only words eh Scott? Only words....

Im still trying to translate "the thread could still have went" out of the native geordie.

Reminds me of an old joke my mom - a teacher told.

About the kid, who kept saying "I have went" when he meant "I have gone" - so teacher made him write 100 lines (remember them dawg? you are just old enough...)

He wrote...
"i have gone
"i have gone
100 times...
Trouble was by that time the teacher had gone out of the room and was nowhere to be seen.

So he wrote a little note. Dear teacher. I have written I have gone 100 times and now I have went home.....

oops. Retires to sidelines as flames appear.

And how does one earn such? And in whose eyes? And surely by now you must realise what a strange statement you made??

In formal usage yes. However, it's acceptable to cover someone's point in a rather informal and 'shorthand' fashion.

If I knew their were two apparently mature middle-aged people with nothing better to do than pounce on my irregular use of words then I wouldn't have said it.

It's a forum. It's not a grammar competition and it's not a piece of copy which I need to proofread. Get over it, if you can.

Prissiness? I thought this thread would be deleted and I thought that would occur no matter what our opinions are. You read it and got the 'wrong end of the stick' (there's another unusual term for you) so I corrected you.

Well I understood it was 'gobbledegook' (believe me). I just didn't understand why you said it. If it was another 'piss take' then good for you, I guess.
