Mailing in the New Year

Hi

Can anyone advise whether it's best to do a mail out in the first week of the New Year, or should we leave it till everything is 'back to normal' and send out in the second or third week of Jan?

The mail out is business lunch menus.

Many thanks
Hayles

Hi Hayles,

I say get in their early, we are always busy early new year. Most people are a little deflated after Christmas and cannot be bothered doing food themselves, so you'd be like the food angel coming to save them :D

I'd much rather be a little devil... oh, wrong thread!

I was wondering if the marketing guys here have advice on whether the response rate is generally better if the info lands on desks the day after they return to work or a few days or weeks later.

wait.

Look at it from your own point of view:

You return to work after the winter break, your a little muddled on where to start and how you get things moving forward and drum up business, then you find a handful of mailers on your desk, your first thought is "Urggh not now!!" I would suggest leaving it till around the 16th Jan
This puts people back in the swing of things and more focused on looking at your services.
People will be too busy with meetings to discuss 2006, talking about who made a fool of themsleves at the xmas party and who has not recovered from new years.
