adsl reselling

I currently run a small IT support business and I am considering starting offering a branded adsl service, by reselling broadband and dealing with the support, billing, etc. I would be offering an onsite service for support so this would be different to the big companies.

Do any of you IT guys here offer broadband to your customers? Can you recommend any good companies that offer adsl reselling that provide a good service?

Try Griffin or Murphx. I really don't recommend it tho' it's virtually impossible to make money - the brand names are subsidising their products

I was thinking myself it might be more hassle than it's worth, but every time I setup broadband for someone, I get the feeling I am missing out on a sale I could make myself. Will have a look and see what the pricing resellers get is like.

You'll find that set up costs are high and that the wholesale price is higher than the retail price - it's a tough old world when you play with the big boys

We used to do this with one of the previous businesses, far more trouble than it was worth. We did make some good money on leased lines, but ADSL was really a non-starter , and that was with a captive base of CPS'ed telecom clients.

We resell ADSL, £29.98 for phone line and broadband, per month obviously.

Up to 24meg down and 1meg up.

Now do a search on Google and see what you can get for less... precisely, we don't sell an awful lot!

Isn't there a commission based system where you can get paid for referrals? That way you wouldn't have to worry about invoicing etc.

If you really want to get into it you could offer hosting packages too using a reseller package like:

Maybe combine both of the things above into a website?

Enta are good for resellers, they can cost more than other ISPs but their quality of service is generally very good. You won't get rich selling ADSL but its a good value add for your clients and you can build up a reasonable montly commission trickle if you get enough people signed up.

Another reason for selling your own ADSL from a reliable supplier is that you are able to provide a good quality service to your customers. We used to sell broadband from 'Aunty' and when they inevitably stuffed up the order the customer would blame us for it.

My recommendation is to resell high quality - you don't want to earn £50 per month and end up providing hours of support because of a shabby service.

BTW also check the reseller terms of the ISP - some of them only pay commissions when you hit a threshold of say, £100. For some of the wholesalers that would mean selling 20 ADSL lines before you get paid anything.
