Hi I'm Burny,

I have just started a new online business with a new company. I am so excited because there are no other websites out there like it. The range of products will be getting bigger all the time, and the prices will always be getting cheaper. I would like feed back on what you think of the range of products and the website, I am trying to improve the site as much I can.

To think that I'll be earning money even when I'm sleeping is a great feeling, here's my website see what you think

Hi Burny,
welcome to the forum.

Checked out your site; don't think much of the furniture, but the lingerie's a winner.

I am so excited because there are no other websites out there like it.
I don't know how to say this, but, Burny, there's thousands of sites selling assorted merchandise. It's now up to you to do it different and better!
Cheers, Nigel

Hi Nigel, Thanks for the feed back. yes there are other sites, but to get all the products with the site and delivery, by the way the furniture we sell is one of the cheapest. I bet the cost of other sites are a lot more money.

cheapest is not always the best way to look at things
quality product with superior service and fair price is better
people dont always want cheap stuff
they would sooner pay a fair price for a quality product delivered in a reasonable time scale
dont build a business around cheapness
advice only

Hi Steve, Thanks for the feed back yes your right everyone wants top service with a good product, but I'm competing with a lot of websites. If I can get a product cheaper for my customers then I know they will be happy they will get great customer sevice at all times.

your a drop shipper in effect. there are thousands of drop shippers out there, i know a few, you can make a tidy little sum, and probably hundreds of other individuals with the same site as yours, who have signed up to the deal.

out of interest, did you have to pay anything for the setup of the site?

good luck with your new business

you have got a lot of competition but if you make headway into standing out from the crowd then i am sure you will do ok.

i assume you are an afffiliate or white label reseller for ml international? try to take look at sourcing your own products and developing a site of your own without the ml branding.

this will not only aid with brand recognition and repeat business but will also give you greater control of your products and margins.

reseller websites are good but in the past i have found that you have to do A LOT of marketing to compete

good luck

In my opinion, this type of business model is severely flawed.

1. The most expensive aspect of an eshop is not the cost of the site ... but the promotion of the website. With an eshop at a third party domain ... you're spending all your time/expenses marketing the third party's website. Why sweat to promote someone else's property?

2. Even if you're mega successful at promoting burny.mlinternational ... you don't own it.

3. If mlinternational business plan works ... there are going to be many duplicate or similar sites ... like http://www.john.mlinternational.com/ etc ... my understanding is that such sites are unlikely to benefit much from the organic SERPs of the major search engines.

Good luck Burny!

Hi Burny,

Welcome to the forum.

I'm afraid I really didn't like your site, I don't see a workable business opportunity for me there. I'm not going to be investing today, I'm out.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

I agree with Nigel, the lingerie is nice but the other stuff looks a bit like it
's come out of a 1980's department store.

Hi Clare,

Yes we do lots of different products, everyone has different taste. As you can see we have something for everyone. This is early days I'm just getting goin on this, what I'm trying to do is get people to shop online at a trusted site with good products and a great prices.

I can get you the lingerie for you at a SMASHING PRICE! don't forget I make the prices to suit YOU! that's way everyones a winner.

Burny to promote the site you will need to network, network, network.

You should do well this time of year though!

I'm curious, Nic, how do you go about promoting your business?

If I was really desperate for business, I could look up websites owned by any local business and offer to improve it. Well, that's the simple version.

Do you go around stealing from people so they go into debt and someone then require your services? ;)

lol Mac

No I go networking. I get a lot of referrals because I'm good at what I do. And I know this is going to sound chauvinistic, but, the fact I look sod all like the publics conception of a debt collector, the people I meet strike up conversation out of curiosity. However, the opening line is so predictable.......so how do oyu collect the debt? kneecap em! YAWNNNNNN

Well, I value my business too much, but I'm sure I could put some local businesses into financial difficulty and just turn up at the scene.

Thanks for the feed back you have some very good points, but if you see the program you will understand it more, there will be lots of sites out there which means the company is doing well. Are there any websites out there like mine? I've looked around and only seen sites offering more money without the products.

I have to say your website doesn't look convincing. It looks like another oscommerce site that isn't yours. It might have loads of products and maybe even great prices but it just doesn't ooze confidence. I would't feel confident buying from your site. It doesn't have any details how secure your site is re making payment through it.

Your data protection page doesn't have anything on there. No T&Cs In fact that ML Information box doesnt give any!

Plus you've got a mobile number!!! I could understand a window cleaner giving his mobile number for things. (Even then he could get a local number and divert it) but you should change that.

Having that vast product range doesn't mean anything and its that amazing tbh. I could do the same as you, I have thousands of products avaliable - but who are you targeting? Do / Would they really need all that choice, would they looking for those things?

'Oh I need a laptop, but I'll get some lingerie now that I'm here'....

Nic and McMacDay get a room/post/thread - In 'Time out'
