Would this infringe on any rights?

Hi,

I have a product that I want to try to sell in the UK market. I sourced the design from Indonesia, and have since gotten it produced for myself here in the UK. I found the product something like 9 years ago.

Am I within my rights to produce the product in the UK under my branding?

Too little information to form a real view, but on a pragmatic level someone from a distant country 9 years ago would have to notice what your doing, decide that it was worth persuing and then do something about it.

Seems unlikely to me - unless you create an international sensation you'll be lucky if your next door neighbour notices!

It was very much a small shop operation producing these out in some village far from Jakarta city.... It suppose it still wouldn't make it right ethically but on the other hand there is not a big chance that the manufacturer would start exporting to the UK let alone anywhere else in the world!

Havn't actually started selling them yet, I've just had a test batch produced.

i concur with clairemackaness

you can produce what you want to, but just live in the comfort that for the next 14 years (if it si registered) you could have a small court case on your hands for everything of that product you have sold.
