Website trainer required

Dear All

I want to develop a new website which includes the following functionality -

1. Database for users to upload content (including video and audio files)
2. Front end user interface
3. Integrate Google adwords and other advertising revenue models into the website

I have some very basic web development skills and can write business requirements documents. I don't have any experience with databases, but rather than outsource the project I am interested to learn the skills myself so I can build and maintain the site on an ongoing basis. I am therfore looking for someone who can teach me.

I would like to start straight away but will need to be flexible with the time I commit as I have some other commitments at the moment. I would also prefer to work with someone face to face (at lease part of the time) as I feel this is a quicker way to earn.

I would recommend Parity Training - http://www.paritytraining.com/

I have been on numerous Microsoft courses over the years at the Old street venue.

I would look at doing a basic course to begin with, get the fundamentals right then look to expand from that.

There are many different technologies, so you may be learning a while, which would put your website back several months.

What technologies are you keen to learn?

MySQL - PHP
MSSQL - asp.net

MSSQL can work with PHP as well.

And thats just two to start with, I am sure others could chip in with lists of other technologies to learn.

You could even look at off-the-shelf solutions...

Have a look at these, see how you cope with it. Some of the best developers I know haven't had a day of formal training on the subject.
